We believe in being straight with you about this, because these are your memories and you deserve to know what to expect.

Your digitized video will only ever be as good as the tape it lives on. We can capture what's on your tape faithfully — but we can't add what was never recorded, or restore what time has already taken.

Magnetic tape was never meant to last this long. After twenty, thirty, or forty years in a closet or basement, the material that holds your footage slowly breaks down. Combine that with how it was recorded in the first place — camcorder quality, lighting, whether it was already a copy of a copy — and every tape arrives with a natural ceiling on how good it can look. Our job is to reach that ceiling, and to be honest with you about where it is.

Here's how we work: we transfer your tape on well-maintained, properly calibrated equipment, monitor the process as it runs, and apply real correction where it genuinely helps. What we won't do is promise detail that isn't there. No honest service can.

You may notice occasional tracking lines, brief dropouts, shifting color, or wavering audio — most often at the start or end of a tape, or across old edits. In nearly every case, that's the tape showing its age, not a limitation of the transfer. When a tape has real condition issues, we'll tell you plainly and let you know the best result we were able to achieve.

The good news is that most tapes come through beautifully — and there's genuine joy in seeing footage you haven't watched in decades. We simply believe you should have the honest version first, because these are irreplaceable, and you're trusting us to treat them that way.
